AHHS/CEDL Levy Program

The Alberta Hunter Horse Society is a non-profit organization that is mandated for the promotion and enhancement of the hunter/jumper discipline from the grass roots to high performance. Board members are elected by the riders, owners and competition organizers.

As a Bronze or Silver Equine Canada hunter/jumper competition each competition will remit $7.00 per horse entered in hunter, jumper, equitation, and medal divisions to the AHHS.

As a Gold Equine Canada hunter/jumper competition each competition will remit $10.00 per horse entered in hunter, jumper, equitation, and medal divisions to the AHHS.

This amount, which will be collected from each competitor at the time of entry, will be used to support a number of regional programs designed to foster the activities of hunter/jumper riders, owners and the industry at large.

65%  Bursaries and Year End Awards
30% Domestic Programs for  Hunters, Jumpers, Equitation, Owners, Breeders, Riders, Coaches, Officials
5% Administration including Publicity & Public Relations 

(The vast majority of the domestic portion is returned to the athletes from whom it is generated)

For the competition year 2010, the AHHS/CEDL Levy Program paid back to members over $16,500.00 in cash and prizes.

Riders who placed first to fourth in their respective hunter and jumper divisions received a cash award.

Champion and Reserve in the Equitation and Medal Classes received prizes.

In addition the AHHS/CEDL provided the following:

• Co-Sponsorship of the Western Canadian Show Jumping Championship

• Funding contributions towards athlete training and officials clinics

• Subsidizing the 2010 Year End Awards Gala.
