AHHS/CEDL Award Point Calculations

Horse/ rider combination must compete in a minimum of two AHHS/ CEDL horse shows other than the year end final in order to qualify for year end awards.

Greenhawk & Trace Medal Series

Points will be calculated throughout the year. Top 20 riders receiving points will qualify for the Greenhawk Medal Finals and Trace Medals Finals held September 16 – 19, 2010. Order of go will be determined for phase I based on series points.

Points will be tabulated as follows:

1^st – 8 points
2^nd – 7 points
3^rd – 6 points
4^th – 5 points
5^th – 4 points
6^th – 3 points
7^th – 2 points
8^th – 1 point

Points x # entries in class
Gold Level Show x 1.5 Silver Level Show x 1 Bronze Level Show x 1

This total is the points awarded in each class.

Example: 3^rd place in Childrens Medal with 12 entries at a gold show will calculate as follows:
6 x 12 = 72 x 1.5 = 108 total points for that class.

Hunter and Jumper Classes

Points will be awarded as follows:

1^st – 8 points
2^nd – 7 points
3^rd – 6 points
4^th – 5 points
5^th – 4 points
6^th – 3 points
7^th – 2 points
8^th – 1 point

In hunter divisions, all points awarded for over fences classes then top 4 receive points from under saddle class.

In jumper divisions, all points awarded to competitions within the division at that height. The Jr/Am division at the respective height will be used, if there is not a separate division offered then the Open division will be used and only jr/am riders will receive points at their respective placing.

Points multiplied by the number of entries in the class. It is then multiplied by the level of tournament (see below).
