Athlete and Domestic Development Committee

The Athlete & Domestic Development Committee undertakes initiatives to foster the development of equestrian athletes as well as is responsible for planning and implementing domestic programs for the good of the sport.

Bursary Committee: The Bursary Committee, a subcommittee of the Athlete and Domestic Development Committee, reviews the bursary applications annually and recommends the recipients. The Chair of Athlete and Domestic Development also chairs the Bursary Committee.

The Levy Committee, a subcommittee of the Athlete and Domestic Development Committee, advises on all matters connected with the AHHS levy. It is chaired by the Chair of Athlete and Domestic Development Committee. Levy Committee members should be drawn from varied regions across Alberta.

The Awards Committee, a subcommittee of Athlete and Domestic Development Committee, advises on all matters connected with the AHHS Points Program. It is chaired by the Chair of Athlete and Domestic Development Committee. Awards Committee members should be drawn from varied regions across Alberta.

Composition

• a chair elected from within the committee;
• coaching experts;
• hunter and jumper riders

Responsibilities

• provides input into strategic planning and annual budgets;
• initiates and plans educational opportunities for the development of athletes at all levels;
• identifies, implement and  evaluate programs that encourage the development of riders from the grassroots to the national level;
• develops hunter programs to reward the top hunters in specific divisions;and
• oversees AHHS/CEDL levy program
• oversees the AHHS/CEDL points program

Interactions

• the Chair is elected from within the committee;
• the committee liaises with other disciplines/breed sport associations
