Competitions Committee
Mandate
The Competitions Committee is an advisory committee to existing and
new competition within the AHHS circuit.
Composition
Responsibilities
-
provides input into strategic planning and annual budgets;
-
recommends standards and criteria for each type of event in
concert with competition organizers, and ensures that approved
standards and criteria are implemented;
-
fosters the development of low or no-cost competitions so that
riders can develop young horses;
-
fosters the development of provincial and national circuits
(within existing competitions);
-
works in conjunction with the Athlete and Domestic development
committee to develop selection trials, as appropriate;
-
when requested, assists with event organizers and other
committees to package sponsorship opportunities
-
acts as coordinator for providing information regarding media
involvement and ensures the accurate dissemination of
information on riders, horses to all events through the
Marketing, Fundraising and Sponsorship Committees;

to develop owners/breeders recognition program; and
-
works to enhance the viability of Platinum, Gold, Silver and
Bronze competitions.
Interactions
-
the chair is a voting member of AHHS/CEDL;
-
one Competitions Committee member on the AHHS/CEDL Board
represents CSI/CSIO/Platinum competitions, one represents Gold
competitions and one represents Silver/Bronze competitions;
-
maintains close liaison with competition organizers, sponsors
and media (television and print) with respect to the promotion
and enhancement of competitions.
