Marketing, Fundraising and Sponsorship Committee

Mandate

To seek out marketing and/or sponsorship opportunities to the AHHS/CEDL and detects any marketing/sponsorship programs undertaken.

  • a chair chosen by the AHHS/CEDL Boards;

  • representatives may be chosen from Competition Organizers, Riders and Parents

Responsibilities

  • provides input into strategic planning and annual budgets;

  • recommends the hiring of the appropriate expertise to support the sponsorship, communications & media relations, and fundraising initiatives as required, and obtains the approval of the AHHS/CEDL;

  • formulates and recommends policies and strategies for sponsorship, communications and media relations, fundraising, events marketing for the sport of show jumping;

  • provides input into the strategic direction of the sport of show jumping as it relates to the marketing strategy;

  • establishes flexibility in each segment of the market to facilitate both discipline specific and centralized fundraising approaches which do not overlap;

  • creates a sponsorship strategy which integrates all AHHS/CEDL programs and activities;

  • focuses sponsorship initiatives on market segments such as corporations, suppliers, special events and individuals, and establishes targets in each category;

  • delivers optimum value to suppliers for their sponsorship dollar;

  • develops sponsor and official supplier programs to support high performance and domestic elements of the sport;

  • develops sponsorship package;

  • works closely with sponsors and official suppliers to maximize their corporate identity; and

  • works closely with competitions to blend new initiatives with existing tournament programs;

  • establishes fundraising programs for both general and specific proposals through galas, corporate gifts, letters, product sales, auctions, patron programs and strives for self sufficiency in the longer term by involving corporate partners.

Interactions

  • the chair or designate is a voting member of AHHS/CEDL Boards

  • maintains productive working relationships with riders, owners, event organizers, sponsors, the media, provincial equestrian bodies, government and all other key external groups.
