April 2011
2011 Jump Canada Young Horse
Series
The schedule for the 2011 Jump
Canada Young Horse Series has been announced.
The purpose of the Jump Canada
Young Horse Series is to encourage the development of young
show jumping talent and to give Canadian breeders additional
incentives to breed superior show jumping prospects.
Competing on a level playing field, the horses are divided
according to age and jump at a level suited to their
development. This careful development allows the horses to
gain valuable experience and advance to the higher levels of
show jumping competition with confidence. The Jump Canada
Young Horse Series also gives prospective buyers for the
hunter and jumper markets an opportunity to view a large
group of prospects in a competition setting.
The Jump Canada Young Horse Series is now administered
directly through Jump Canada and the Equine Canada offices.
To register on-line, please visit:

UPDATED FEI EQUINE PROHIBITED SUBSTANCE LIST IN EFFECT FROM
4 APRIL 2011
The
2011 FEI Equine Prohibited Substance List goes into
effect 4 April.
The
updated List has been publicly available since the FEI
General Assembly in Taipei last November when it was
unanimously approved.
It is
also accessible via the easily searchable
FEI Equine Prohibited Substances Database, which is free
to download for
iPhones and
Android applications.
The 2011
List will show all Prohibited Substances added to or removed
from the 2010 List and Database until 4 June 2011.
Graeme
Cooke, Director of the FEI Veterinary Department, said: “The
fight against doping is one that all International
Federations are committed to and the FEI is working
tirelessly to come up with new ways to contribute to that
fight in line with the joint-recommendations produced by the
commissions headed by Professor Arne Ljungqvist and Lord
Stevens.
“Everyone
involved in horse sport needs to be aware of the changes in
the 2011 List and this crucial information is now easily
accessible online and via free downloadable applications for
iPhones and other mobile devices.”
As part of its ongoing Clean
Sport campaign and to maintain fair play, the FEI will
continue with a full range of testing, including for
hypersensitisation, at major events during the season.

February 2011
CEDL/AHHS joins Rocky Mountain Show Jumping to host the 2011
CET Prairie Regional Finals
The
Canadian Equestrian Development League/Alberta Hunter Horse
Society is pleased to announce that it will join the
management of Rocky Mountain Show Jumping in hosting the
2011 CET Prairie Regional Finals.
The medal finals will
be held during the Fall Classic that takes place following
the Spruce Meadows Masters on September 15 – 18. With a
membership of 900 strong & growing, CEDL/AHHS continues its
commitment to the betterment of the sport in Alberta. As we
approach on the 25th anniversary of the CET Medal program
introduced in 1988 by Barbara Anderson, there will be some
extra special things happening at this year’s final. Stay
tuned.
Alberta has clinched the
title just 3 times in the 22 years thus far or 13.6%
of the time. The finals have traditionally been
dominated by riders from British Columbia who have
won the coveted Medal 13 times, or 59% of the time.
Work hard, practice your
basics and challenge yourself........riders have
done all of that!
Best of luck to all CET
competitors, and we hope you participate in the
Rocky Mountain Show Jumping CET Medal Challenge
In
March we are subsidizing Schooling
