AHHS/CEDL Educational Scholarship Award


The AHHS Educational Scholarship Award is a financial scholarship funded by the AHHS/CEDL and is established and maintained through generous support of our member shows throughout the year. Two awards of $500.00 each will be given out yearly to active AHHS/CEDL members how exemplify the objectives of the AHHS, if there are suitable applications.

The scholarships will be applied towards any Equine Related Program or Clinic.

Candidates will be selected on the basis of information contained in their application form and letters of reference.

Any candidate may receive this scholarship only once in their lifetime, however, an unsuccessful candidate may re-apply the following year.

The complete application package must be received by the AHHS by September 15th of the current year. Only complete applications will be considered, late application s will not be valid.

AHHS will not return any of the material submitted with Applications.

Only the successful candidates will be notified by October 31st

The AHHS may, at their option print, reproduce and publish the successful applicants name and photograph in any medium, without further compensation.

AHHS reserves the right to withdraw or modify all or part of this scholarship and application process

 

Eligibility Criteria

You must have been an Equine Canada and AHHS/CEDL member in Good Standing for the past two years.

 

Selection Committee

Winners will be selected by a committee of three (3) AHHS/CEDL Board members who make up the AHHS/CEDL Bursary Committee, who will not receive compensation for this committee work. Their involvement is voluntary. Due to the need for impartiality, the names of the committee will not be publicly disclosed until after the selection process is completed. All personal information will be kept confidential and disclosed only tot those parties on a need to know basis.

Information – To be included in a 400 word TYPED essay:

1. When did you begin working with horses?
2.  Include equine activities that you have helped to organize or have volunteered with in your Local are, Regional area, or National, if applicable.
3.  List disciplines that you have participated in i.e. Dressage, Hunter
4.  Include current equestrian activities and future goals
5.  Please explain why you deserve this award and how it will benefit you.

Letters of Reference – Minimum of two – Originals to be included.
